Our lawn treatment service is tailored to suit your lawns needs. Most of our clients opt for a seasonal treatment programme.
Spring: A fertiliser high in Nitrogen is applied. Nitrogen will help to get your grass growing for the oncoming season. The fertiliser is slow releasing giving the turf an adequate amount of feed for up to three months. Potassium and Phosphate are also included in the feed to help root growth and general plant health. Spring is also when your lawn will be sprayed for common broadleaf weeds. If conditions are not acceptable the spray treatment will postponed to summer time.
Summer: If your lawn wasn’t treated for broadleaf weeds in the spring it will be done now. Your lawn will be fed with a more balanced quantity of Nitrogen, Potassium and Phospahate. Depending on conditions the treatment can be adjusted, for example in a wet summer there will be no need for a high application of Nitrogen as it will produce excessive growth.
Autumn: A feed low in Nitrogen but high in Phosphate and Potassium will be applied to help your lawn recuperate after summer. It is important to build up a strong root system ready for the oncoming winter. Top growth is not important this time of year as it can be difficult to mow during this season. A moss suppressant will also be included if necessary to help keep moss at bay.
Winter: A moss treatment is applied in spray form. The product will also harden the sword helping protect your turf against disease ready for the spring. The treatment will also rapidly green up the appearance of your lawn.

Scarification:
All lawns benefit from a process known as scarifying. The technique is used to remove the build up of moss and ‘thatch’. ‘Thatch’ is an accumulative layer of dead grass clippings, partially rotted leaves and other natural debris that builds up in a lawn over time. Moss and thatch restrict grass growth by competing with it for light and water, leading to your lawn rapidly becoming thin, patchy and dying off quickly in times of drought. Scarification will result in this debris being removed allowing air to pass through the sword helping to reduce further invasion of moss and creating more resilient grass growth. Scarification can be achieved with a spring tine rake on small areas or use of a petrol powered mechanical scarifyer.
Light scarification can be carried out in spring and heavy scarification in the autumn. The grass must be actively growing at the time of scarifying to allow your lawn a quick recovery.
